We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Practice Provider) to join our Endocrinology team. Advanced Practice Providers are responsible for providing patient care, consultation, medical evaluation, education and treatment to patients under the supervision of a physician, specifically within Endocrinology. This position is full-time and will move be based in Edwards, and will travel between our clinics in Eagle County and possibly Summit County. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring caseload and patient flow, quality of care and clinic staff to ensure they fulfill their job duties and provide the highest quality of patient care.
  • Demonstrates competency in triage, diagnosis, and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained.
  • Provides patient education relating to current medical issues and to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Ensures that patient documentation is in accordance with accreditation and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Works closely with physicians to promote care and efficient triage of patients.
  • Performs selected nursing and administrative duties, and assists physicians as part of the clinical care team which includes maintaining sample medication records, administering medication and responding to medication requests per practice protocol.
  • Shows leadership skills by actively participating in identified quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrates participation in professional association and/or continuing education activities for self.
  • Displays and promotes professional, courteous, and collaborative interaction with patients/families, providers, staff and leadership in meeting patient care needs and promoting teamwork.
  • Demonstrates on-going coordination of patient care with all care coordinators, diversified services, hospitalists, specialty practices, Eagle County services and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Assists with scheduling tests and treatments, pre-certifying patients for hospital care and/or procedures and processing referrals to other providers.
  • Practices fiscal responsibility, efficient, and cost effective coordination of all aspects of care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Must be HIPAA compliant.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, licensed in Colorado.
  • Two years of experience acute care or endocrinology preferred.
  • BLS /CPR Certification.
  • Must be credentialed through CMM prior to starting work.  
  • Thorough understanding of the endocrine system and its diseases, disorders, and conditions preferred, or the ability to learn required.
  • Strong analytical abilities to provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Proficiency with computers and medical equipment.
  • Ability to correctly document and code using electronic medical record.
  • Ability to effectively organize resources, establish priorities, manage time and perform multiple tasks. 
  • Professionalism and ability to be discreet with confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and organization skills.

  • Sitting for less than 50% of the day.
  • Walking and standing for more than 50% of the day.

  • Seeing up close, long distances, color, and adjusting and focusing vision.
  • Working indoors in an office environment.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a medical clinic environment.
